    Birkdale Cruise In

I was out at Birkdale this afternoon and evening to see a couple movies and while I was outside between the two, I noticed there was a cruise in going on. So I spoke to one of the people there (he was affiliated with the Draco Performance shop) and he tells me that it's something that's been happening for a while now.

So here's the deal: This happens every 3rd Saturday of the month and parking begins at 5:00. We get to park in the grass median in the center of the main drag (which means whomever wanted to come out would need to meet up prior to 5 and then go in together so they'll get to park together).

There was a mix of cars out there, everything from old Sports Cars to American Muscle to Subarus. There was even a turbocharged Volvo 240 out there. I think they could do with some Z cars out there and really think we should participate. The next one should be on July 21st. I'll see what I can do to confirm that.

    Anyone interested?

Sounds like a good event, I'll try to make the next one.

This would be a good 'mid-month' club activity for those who could come out. Let's put a reminder on the calendar and try to get a group up for the next one.

Get back to finding your vacuum leaks!

...and yes, it might be a good event w/ a visit to Fox & the Hound afterwards ;)

That was my thought on it, Andy. I've asked Randy to put this on the agenda for next month's meeting so we can discuss it at then. We've got a chance here to get some good exposure for the club.

FYI - there is a cruise in every Wednesday night at Bruster's Ice Cream in Mooresville on Williamson Rd.

There's one at the Brewsters off Catawba too on Tuesdays....but it's all classic cars there. Last summer I popped by with the Z and hung out a couple times and was mostly ignored.

The Birkdale thing appealed to me because it seemed like there was a mix of everything: foreign, domestic, classic, new, stock, modified.....

    Where is Birkdale?
If I paved my streets with good times....would the mountain keep on giving....and if all of our days are numbered..............then why do I keep counting?
