Turns out that the Florida "snowflakes" were actually bird poop - splat, right on the hood of my car.

LOL!  I had a false alarm once-- it was ash falling from a nearby fire!

We had more than what I would call a little snow this winter, but usually we don't get very much, if at all.

Dana - are you going to make it to ZCON in July?

Rich,

Yes, I am going and so is Mike Forman.  I'm thinking of doing the autocross and the people's choice car show, but I have not yet registered so I am glad you poked me on this.

If I can get the following Monday off I would also like to do the track time on Sunday.

Can't wait to see how clean your car is, are you going to drive it there??

Not trying to high jack Barbie thread but yes I will be driving it to the show - hope it doen't rain this time.  Still waiting on the new chip from Jim Wolf Technologies but I got the car back together on Sunday and was able to start the car with the old chip just to make sure I got everything hooked back up correctly.

Hey -I have a hair dryer under my 81 Zxt hood... welcome to the area!  There's a lot of great places to live- its really on what you want - short drive to work or local ammenities - the nice thing about charlotte, you can get around -77 and parts of 485 have delays- but it's not like Atl or 40 into raliegh...

Good luck finding a place- let us know if you need any help narrowing down areas - we are not shy about our opinions!

Hi, SkullyZ! It's nice to know there's another hairdryer owner in the group, and thank you for your offer to help me find a place. I literally just returned home from Charlotte two hours ago from a 36-hour visit (had a job interview yesterday), and, yes, I'm exhausted from the drive (9 hours there and 8 hours back).

As much as I didn't want to, I've decided to live with a couple of roommates (two guys in their 20s). Gosh, I've lived alone for almost all of my adult life, so this will be interesting, but the guys seem really nice and down to earth. There's no lease, so if it doesn't work out, it's no biggie.

Anyway, I'm back in FL to pack and will be moooving to Charlotte on Tuesday. I think I will like it there. You guys are right - the traffic is nothing compared to Atlanta, but gosh, the humidity - whew! I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

It can get really hot where I live in Central Florida, but it feels like a dryer heat than in Charlotte. I noticed that your high temps are typically higher than ours, so I assume it’s Charlotte’s higher humidity that makes me feel hotter.

By the way, I saw a black Z32 parked in the driveway of a house on Woodlawn (very close to I-77) when I left Charlotte around 11AM today. Was that any of you guys?

Glad you'll be joining us in Charlotte.  I like what you've done with your 280zx.  Have a 80 280zx with less than 16k original miles in mint condition (blue and silver).  Want to keep it largely stock but would appreciate some suggestions on some minor aesthetic tweaks.  Have a lot of experience restoring and reinventing first generation cars but not second.

Z Car Barbie,

The important thing is, do you have proper shelter for your Z(s)?

Good luck with the move, too bad your doing it in the middle of the heat wave!

Call on us for anything.

Perhaps that black Z32 was the ghost of Brian's (NightOwl)?

Thank you! Wow, under 16K miles! I’d love to see her and offer my suggestions on your aesthetic tweaking.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I won’t be bringing my Zs just yet due to limited driveway space. My roommate plans to widen it, but until then, the Zs will have to stay in FL (unsheltered). I sure will miss them.  03

Z Car Barbie,

Since you will be in town (Z car or no Z car) you should come out to the autofair (our ZJAM event) at Lowes motor speedway at the end of the month.
