I'm moving to some different cats in the next week or so, so I'm going to be selling my Berks. There are less than 1000 miles on these things so they are practically new. I'm asking for $400. I won't have these available until after I get my other cats installed but I'm putting this out there to see if anyone local has any interest before I go out to the rest of the interwebs.

These supposedly fit the following cars (from the Berk Web site):
Nissan 370Z, 350Z 07-up, 370Z, & Infiniti G37/G35, VQ35HR HFC

http://www.berktechnology.com/shop/product.asp?strParents=91&CAT_ID=106&P_ID=434

I can post pics of them once I get them removed.

Here are the pics:

They sound good but there is some rasp from 3k to 4k ish in the RPM range that I just didn't like. I'm not sure if it is my exhaust (ARK Performance Grip) or the engine itself but once I put the cats on it was definitely noticeable. If you have a stock exhaust, from what I understand, it won't be as noticeable. I've done tons of research on this thing and it isn't just the Berks that do this but any HFC. I just purchased some Fast Intentions Resonated Cats that should help with, but not totally eliminate the rasp but they are costing me a lot more than the berks 650$. The new cats should be here Friday and if I can get an appointment over at CIN on Monday I can have pics of them up then.

The VQ motor - 3.5 or 3.7 - will always have some rasp (or a lot) the more it breathes. Accept it, or as noted, work on a resonator like solution in the exhaust system configuration.
My G35 has cheap-azz Borla headers, cheap-azz Borla cat-back, Kinetic HFC - on track, it is referred to as the "angry hornet" at full cry. Ben @ CIN says too much tinge of rasp for him.... me - IDGAF!

That is what I've heard about the VQ motors too. That is why I'm going with the Fast Intentions Resonated Cats as they are the only company that produces them. The resonators don't cause any performance loss they just add a chunk of change to the cost. I'm using my car as a Daily Driver so I want it as good as I can get it.

Since you already have HFCs on your vehicle do you pass emissions with them on or do you have to switch back to the OEM cats when you get tested?

Haha. The Angry Hornet. I've got to hear that sometime Smiley.

P.S.

Scheduled install for the cats is 10:00am Monday at CIN. I'll post pics once they are installed.

In general the VQ engine can pass emissions with no cats at all.  They're pretty clean engines.  Unless you get crazy with the engine mods, then you'll probably be OK emissions wise.  I would, however, keep a set of cats on the car regardless as the fine for removing cats is rather steep...and a federal matter.

Agreed - have seen two VQs w/ mods similar to mine pass Char-Meck inspection as to the emission numbers with only test pipes.
HOWEVER.
One was visually inspected as well, the absence of CATS was noted, and it was failed. The other, no visual, and it was passed. Depends on who you know, or who's scrotum you tickle I guess?  55
I've never had inspection group look twice at my car with the Kinetic HFCs - always passed - and they are somewhat gutted as to content  04

I don't know that test pipes contribute to an NA motor in enough of a substantial fashion to support routine use, didn't happen at my house - I've tried with/without, made no real discernable power gains for me and it went from the large "Angry (Japanese) Hornet" sort of snarl to a real rasp I-need-to-clear-the throat-blat,blat,blat-baaaaaaaaaa
Didn't like it.

I'll never be using Test Pipes as I actually care about the environment Smiley.

That's pretty amazing to hear that this thing can pass emissions with test pipes on.

I was thinking that test pipes would make the rasp quite bad since it is just straight through and all.
